Cisco Rodriguez was arrested Tuesday on the 300 block of West Sixth Street. Officers were called to the residence in reference to an assault in progress. When officers arrived they spoke with the victim who stated Rodriguez had been at the residence to see his children. After the visit he left but returned shortly after. When she opened the door he began to assault her even grabbed her neck and choked her. The victim told police she was able to get away, but heard what she believed was a knife opening and falling to the ground. According to the victim, Rodriguez grabbed her a second time knocking her to the floor and shoved his fingers down her throat making it difficult to breathe. The victim got away from Rodriguez called 9-1-1 from her bedroom. Officers located a knife  by the backdoor. Rodriguez was taken to the Jim Wells County jail. He was charged with burglary with intent, assault family violence impede breath and aggravated assault.

Suspicious vehicle

On Friday, March 30 police responded to the 500 block of West Fifth Street for a suspicious vehicle parked at an abandoned residence. Police parked behind the vehicle and saw Marcos Lopez and Miranda Castillo inside the vehicle. Officers observed a cloud of smoke in the car as well as a bong used to smoke marijuana. When Lopez opened the window officers could smell marijuana. Officers found marijuana inside Castillo’s wallet. Both individuals admitted to smoking marijuana. Castillo also told the officers she had more marijuana hidden inside her genitals. The couple was transported to the JWC and charged with possession of marijuana.
