A 53-year-old man wanted by police in connection with a theft that occurred at a parking lot on the 2700 block of East Main Street was arrested on Wednesday.
Police were called to the business on March 15 in reference to an unknown man, later identified as Alonzo Garza who stole over $300 worth of fishing gear from the back of a pickup truck.
The truck was parked in the parking lot near the garden center of the business.
With the help from the business' loss prevention officers police were able to obtain a photo of the suspect and the vehicle he was in.
With the help from the public police were able to obtain Garza's name and a warrant was issued.
Several attempts were made to locate Garza, but he could not be found, according to police.
Garza was finally apprehended when a vehicle was pulled over during a traffic stop.
As police interviewed Garza about the theft investigation he told police he had sold the fishing gear and he alos gave them the location to recover the stolen property.
The fishing gear was picked up and released back to its owners.
Garza was magistrate and released from jail due to medical conditions.
