Hannah Hayslip

Daughter of Elice and Clay Hayslip

Next fall I plan to attend Texas A&M University at College Station and graduate with a degree majoring in animal science.

I have been on the Alice Varsity Swim Team for four years along with being a part of the Alice Swim Team since I was about five years old. I am also currently an AHS Varsity cheerleader and have participated in this sport for four years as well.

Some accomplishments I have acquired over the years are having been members of both NJHS and NHS, I am also going to be a 4-year Coyote Scholar. I have been the MVP for the high school swim team for three years as well as being recognized as All District and All Regions for three years. I have also medaled at state for the summer swim team for three years and currently hold the title for the 50 butterfly. I also attended the State Games of America in which I have 3 top five finishes and a first place in a relay. I am also a certified lifeguard and have been for two years.

The best advice ever given to me was from my mom, she has given me everything I need to succeed. “You can be anything you want to be and you can accomplish anything you want as long as you put your mind to it and you try with the best of your abilities. Never ever give up, you can do this!”

In 5 years I see myself still at A&M, pursuing my masters degree at their veterinary school. I would also like to see myself already working at a clinic working my dream job.

If I could change anything in the world I would change the way people treat each other. There is no need to tear others down to build yourself up.

If I could invite three people to dinner, the first person I would invite would be Ryan Reynolds. He is my absolute favorite actor and I love all of his movies. I would probably end up asking him to recite some lines from the movie “The Proposal”. For my second invite I'd love to invite Chase Elliott to the table because my family and our close friends are huge NASCAR fans. He is extremely young and is making a big name for himself. It would also be fun to tell him about the rivalries between our families and our different drivers. Lastly, I would invite Michael Phelps to the table because of course I would like to know how he became to be so great and all the things he had to go through to get there. I would love to hear some tips and pointers and to have the chance to learn from him since I have looked up to him for years.
