Eight years after his father won grand champion at the Jim Wells County Fair Tristian Perez took the title with his Heifer.
"It's a family ordeal with everyone helping," Perez said. "I started the fair as a third grader now I'm a junior representing Ben Bolt Palito Blanco 4H."
Perez named his Heifer "LuLu." While LuLu won grand champion Perez gets to keep her. If she won at sweepstakes the money he earns goes to her food and other items needed to care for her, Perez said.
"It a lot of responsibility which she makes easy. She a gentle creature," Perez said. "I get to keep her, breed her and raise her babies."
When Perez is busy with football, baseball and powerlifting his family steps in to help. Perez knows its not a one person job.
Perez plans to be back at next years fair for more fun and hard work.
