Routine Traffic Stop
Eric Allen Johnson was arrested Wednesday after a routine traffic stop. During the stop, Alice police were notified that Johnson had a warrant from Nueces County. Johnson gave officers permission to search his vehicle where officers found several used syringes with a heroin and a pill bottle with 116 white round pills and a oval blue pill. Mixed in with the pills was a white rock substance that Johnson claimed was meth mixed with salt. Johnson took ownership of all narcotics and was transported to the Jim Wells County jail. He was charged with the warrant and possession of a controlled substance.
Taking a Walk
Officers made contact with Robert Canales and another man as they walked on the 1100 block of Josephine on Wednesday. Canales first identified himself as Michael Canales to the officers who immediately noticed he was under the influence of alcohol. A search of Robert's backpack led officers to discover a bag of marijuana. Robert also had warrants. Robert was arrested for possession of marijuana, warrants, failure to identify and public intoxication. He was taken to the JWC jail.
