Alice City Council will have a meeting on Wednesday to consider an increase for proposed taxes. 

The agenda item reads, "Consider, discuss and act upon record vote for proposed tax increase, and consider and act upon scheduling two public hearings and issuing and publishing notice of public hearing dates."

The council will also hear presentations regarding taxes assessed and collected and an overview of city's debt and refinancing and historical overview of general fund, utility system, refunding and restructuring results, projected tax rate analysis and peer comparison of tax rates from comparable cities.

The council will receive an update and legal advice under closed executive session on pending case with former employee Christine Reyes, who is in litigation with the city. If needed the council will take necessary action in open session.

The last item on the agenda is possible appointments to city's board, commissions and committees.

The meeting is open to the public and starts at 6:30 p.m at the City Hall council chambers.
