Council is planning to discuss many items under executive session Thursday, including former City Manager Andy Joslin's severance pay.
The agenda states the council plans to consult with interim city attorney John Lemon on pending or contemplated litigation, reviewing the contract of former City Manager Andy Joslin and the letter sent to council by attorney Luis Vera Jr. on behalf of Joslin.
Another important issue the council will discuss is the compensation and duties of newly appointed Interim City Attorney John Lemon and compensation of Interim City Manager Diana Lopez, along with her continuation or replacement.
Council will also deliberate and discuss the process of hiring or contracting with a qualified candidate for the position of City Manager or Interim City Manager.
Other agenda items include private consultation with attorney on options available to city in regards to employee benefits plan and contractual options for group, health, life, dental and vision insurance; also legal advice from attorney on relating contracts between the City of Corpus Christi, Alice Water Authority and the Jim Wells County Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 and lastly, also on legal matters concerning open meetings and conduct of open meetings.
The meeting will also hold a promotional ceremony for Cpl. Juan Jose Martinez to the promotional rank of Sergeant at the City of Alice Police Department.
The meeting is open to the public at the City Hall council chamber starting at 6:30 p.m
