Alice Police Department with the assistance of the Duval County Sheriff's Office on Monday at approximately 6:30 p.m. executed a narcotic search warrant at a duplex on the 1000 block of East Second Street.
No one was home at the time of officers entered the residence. However, officers observed the suspect, 24-year-old Freddie Martinez Jr. nearby and conducted a traffic stop.
In the vehicle with Martinez was his wife, 23-year-old Teri Lucio and their two children.
A search of the black Chevy Cruz unveiled a jar that contained marijuana on the backseat floorboard in reach of the children, according to Sgt. Nick Juarez with the Alice Police Department.
While searching the residence officers found three additional jars that contained marijuana for a total of 94 grams of marijuana. Also seized during the raid was $626 and scales.
Martinez was charged with two counts of child endangerment and possession of marijuana. Lucio was charged with two counts of child endangerment.
The couple was transported to the Jim Wells County jail.
