Benavides- Leopoldo S. "Polo" Chapa Jr. 78 years of age passed away in a San Diego Nursing Home. Polo was born to Leopoldo S. Chapa Sr. and Anita Saenz Chapa on November 15, 1938 in Benavides, Texas. He was a retired construction worker, a bus driver for the Benavides ISD and a heavy equipment operator for Duval County Pct. 3 in Benavides, Texas after retirement he was a maintenance worker at the Benavides Civic Center. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his spouse Gloria S. Chapa, Benavides, Texas, two daughters Patricia (Damacio) Suarez, San Diego, Texas, Priscilla (Oscar) Garcia, Austin, Texas. two sisters, Gloria C. Hernandez, Benavides, Texas and Elena C. (Eduardo) Garcia, San Diego, Texas, two grandsons, Oscar Patrick Garcia and Damon Paul Suarez one great-grandchild Joseph Ryan Suarez, numerous nieces and nephews. Active Pallbearers, Oscar Patrick Garcia, Damon Paul Suarez, J.A. Hernandez, Orlando Hernandez, Carlos Hernandez and Eduardo Hernandez. Visitation will begin on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home-San Diego from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. the same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Benavides Cemetery. Mauro P.
