Duval County - A great holiday response brought in patrons from the area to take part in the annual holiday "2016 Annual Holiday Art Celebrate & Decorate Christmas!" at the Duval County Public Libraries in San Diego and Benavides.

Patrons of all ages created handmade cards and decorations; many had a fun relaxing time with holiday color pages and crafts such as paper bag puppets and each item were placed on display at the library sites to showcase local artistic talents of both children and adults, said  B. J. Alaniz, Public Library Director.

Colorful holiday cards included a Christmas decoration attached to each with a note from the children from “Little Scholars”, a local day care center in San Diego.

Gifts from San Diego, Benavides, Freer, and Alice added socks, gloves, beanies and a surprise arrival of blankets brought in by friends from Hebbronville were fashioned into a tree and set for display adding to the presents for those at the resident center. While staff and volunteers packed items for Santa’s gift bag, more patrons came in to add more color pages for holiday giving.
