During the 5th annual Family Engagement Conference on Saturday families and the community joined at the Alice High School for a day of learning.

Throughout the morning, parents chose from a variety of 45 minute break-out sessions on various topics such as bullying, domestic violence, exploring career and technical education to name a few. The sessions offered important information on topics that impact on children and parents in the community.

Vendors such as Jim Wells County Juvenile Probation Office, Driscoll Health Plan, Community Action Cooperation of South Texas, Alice Fire Department and more passed out informational pamphlets to attendees.

This year's theme was Somewhere Over the Rainbow Families Come Together.

The Junior Police Academy from Alice High School was on-site providing child fingerprinting identification services and the Teen Outreach Program assisted with childcare services.
