What was the best advice you ever received? Who gave you the advice? Over years I have received advice from numerous intelligent people whom I admire, but someone I really look up to told me something once that I have never forgotten. My brother means the world to me and it seems as though he always knows what to say. He has taught me that life is a long road full of twists and turns. Along the way there will be obstacles, there will be people trying to steer you off your path, and you will get distracted, but no matter what comes up, never change for others or let them bring you down. If you fall you get right back up and make sure you are full of willingness and passion. You determine your future and no one else.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? In 5 years I see myself attending medical school, preferably at University of Incarnate Word, pursuing my goal of becoming an OB-GYN. My entire family is involved in the medical field, so of course they helped me realize what career path I’d be interested in. I have always admired the love of a mother and how influential they are in a family, I would love to guide them on their journey of molding the future. In all honesty, babies are a true blessing and spread happiness to everyone. I love seeing their smiles and I most certainly can not wait to deliver them into this world as an OB-GYN.

If you could change anything about this world, what would it be and why? If I could change anything about this world, I would change how judgmental people can be of others. It doesn’t matter where you live, the clothes you wear, or the car you drive. Everyone is capable of doing something amazing as long as they set their mind to it. Everyone has the same capabilities, some choose to take advantage while others just simply do not. We all have dreams and goals. No matter how big or small, an accomplishment is always going to be accomplishment. No one can take away your victories.

If you could invite 3 people to dinner (other than relatives), who would they be and why? I would invite Hunter Doherty Adams because he is truly a legendary physician who believes in making a patient feel better both inside and out. I would invite Leonardo da Vinci because he created such masterpieces while incorporating beauty, I would love to have insight on his thought process. Lastly, I would invite Elizabeth Blackwell since she was the first woman to graduate from medical school and was also the first female physician in the United States.
