A single vehicle rollover Saturday at approximately 6 p.m. claimed the life of an Edinburg woman on North Highway 281. Her 13-year-old daughter was transported to Driscoll Children's Hospital via Halo Flight with serious conditions.
Joyce Ann Wiesehan, 60, and her daughter were traveling southbound in a Acura Sedan when she failed to maintain a single lane.
According to Department of Public Safety Trooper Nathan Brandley, Wiesehan overcorrected, crossed the median and flipped several times, and landed on its roof in a field.
DPS trooper do not believe speed was a factor in the accident.
Alice firefighters used the jaws of life to remove Wiesehan from the vehicle.
Jim Wells County deputies assisted in the accident.
