The Noonan Elementary's Cafeteria was overpacked with students and their parents on Monday for Literacy Night.

Guest speakers Jim Wells County District Attorney Investigator Margarito Perez and Alice Fire Marshall Patrick Thomas stressed the importance of parent involvement and reading.

Parent involvement shows a child that someone cares about their day, about their schooling, Perez said.

Many of the students wore capes and superhero attire to participate in the Superhero theme of the night.
