The administration at Mary R. Garcia Elementary School was recognized Wednesday by the We Believe Committee for their hard work.
“It's important to let you know that we truly appreciate your efforts,” said Alice Superintendent Dr. Grace Everett. "You've done a tremendous job with this campus and the five distinctions (from the Texas Education Agency) show that you've worked very, very hard.”
The campus had been an Improvement Required campus after not meeting the Texas Education Agency (TEA) standards.
According to Everett, Mary R. Garcia Elementary received all five distinctions; Academic Achievement in Reading/ English Language Arts, Academic Achievement in Math, Top 25 Percent: Student Progress, Top 25 Percent: Closing Performance Gaps and Post Secondary Readiness.
