Juanita B. Villarreal, 103 years of age, passed away Friday October 21, 2016 at her son’s home in the Alfred community. Juanita was born August 17, 1913 in Corsicana, Texas to Cristobal Bazan and Julia Lopez Bazan. Juanita was a devout Catholic. She will be remembered by her family for leaving a legacy of love to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and generations to come. She was a courageous woman that served her family and the Lord here on earth up until her last days. Juanita leaves many years of memories behind that her family will cherish for a life time.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Zoilo Villarreal; one grandson, Jesus “Jesse” Cristobal Villarreal; and one great-grandson Ricky “R.J.” Martinez Jr.
Her survivors include four sons, Manuel De Jesus (Barbara) Villarreal from Ohio, Zoilo (Edna) Villarreal Jr. from Ohio, Roel (Luisa) Villarreal from Alice and Ramiro B. (Dorothy) Villarreal from Alice; one sister, Francisca Cantu; 12 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 5 till 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Villarreal Family Cemetery in Alfred, Texas.
