Librada Quirova Amador, 82 years old, passed away October 19, 2016 in Alice, Texas. She was born August 9, 1934 in Refugio, Texas to Juan Quirova and Nicolasa Gonzales Quirova. Librada married Francisco F. Amador on January 4, 1956. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking and she was known to many for her famous pan de polvo. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Librada was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Francisco F. Amador; second parents, Ernesto and Petra Salinas; brothers, Amando Salinas, Ernesto Salinas Jr. and Raul Salinas; sisters, Esmeralda Roberts and Janie Thorpe.
Survivors include her sons, Victor Amador of Corpus Christi, Texas, Librado Amador of Alice, Texas and Andres Martinez of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters, Eliza (David) Pena of Corpus Christi, Texas and Virginia (Macario) Sandoval of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren, Jessica (Armando) Rodriguez of Alice, Texas, Librado Amador Jr of Alice, Texas, Juliana (James) Tigerina of San Antonio, Texas, David Pena Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas and Samantha Pena from Corpus Christi, Texas and 9 great grandchildren. Other survivors include her brothers, Raul Gonzales of San Antonio, Texas, Tomas Garcia of San Antonio, Texas, Rodolfo Salinas of San Antonio, Texas, Ruben (Rosa) Salinas of Tyler, Texas, Roque (Nellie) Salinas of Alice, Texas and Homero (Norma) Salinas of Alice, Texas; sisters, Consuelo (Israel) Luera of Corpus Christi, Texas, Irma (Zeke) Abrigo of Alice, Texas, Linda (Rene) Munoz of Alice, Texas and Eloisa Salinas of Alice, Texas; numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 23, 2016, from 5 to 9 pm at the Rosas Funeral Home Chapel in Alice, Texas with a Rosary being recited at 7 pm that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, October 24, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the New Collins Cemetery.
