Officer Brandon Reynolds was dispatched to a parking lot on the 1100 block of East Main Street for suspicious individuals on Monday. When the officer arrived he met with Lee Roy Hernandez and Norma Padilla. Hernandez had a warrant and was arrested. During the course of the investigation a bag of marijuana and a grinder were located. Hernandez took ownership of the marijuana. However, Hernandez and Padilla denied ownership of the grinder.

Hernandez was charged with the warrant, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Padilla was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. They were transported to the Jim Wells County jail.

Burglary

Officers arrived to a residence on the 700 block of West First Street Sunday in reference to a fight. According to the victim and a witness, Juan Cortez had arrived at the residence yelling. Cortez crawled through a bedroom window and dragged the victim by her neck out of the home. The witness stated Cortez threatened to stab the victim with. He was charged with burglary of habitation with intent to commit felony.

Stolen property recovered

Frank Douglas Hadamek III was arrested on Saturday on the 1000 block of Cecilia Street. A man arrived at the police station to file a report concerning a theft that occurred in Corpus Christi. Through the course of the investigation officers tracked the stolen equipment to Cecilia Street where they found Hadamek. A search of the Hadamek's vehicle turned up an Ipad, a glass pipe, a check book and other stolen items. Also found was a bag of crystal meth.

The stolen property was returned to the owner and Hadamek was transported to the JWC jail. Officers received notification that the vehicle Hadamek was in was also stolen from the Corpus Christi area. Hadamek was charged with theft over $750, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Breaking down door

On Saturday officers responded to a call on the 1300 block of Edith where they heard a woman scream for help. The officers found the victim, Billy Segura and three children outside the residence. According to victim, Segura no longer resides at the residence and had kicked open the front door. As Officer David Valadez talked to the victim Segura would interrupt the interview. Segura was handcuffed and attempted to walk out the residence without an assisting officer. When the officer attempted to escort Segura to the police unit Segura became aggressive and spit at the officer. Once inside the vehicle Segura kicked the rear passenger window.

Segura was taken to the JWC jail. At the jail correctional officers searched Segura and found a pipe used for drugs. Segura was charged with criminal trespass of a habitation, assault on public servant, interference with public duties, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Argument turns nasty

Melvin Baker was arrested on Friday evening after officers were dispatched to a fight in the area of Adame and Staples. According to neighbors, Baker had been in an argument with them when he exposed his genitals. The officers made contact with Baker who admitted to exposing himself. Baker was taken to the JWC jail and charged with indecent exposure.
