San Diego - Approximately six hours of searching by land and air, two male juveniles were apprehended at a residence on County Road 140 on Monday at approximately 3 a.m.
The two 15-year-old's escaped from the Judge Ricardo Garcia Detention Center, located at 5014 Farm-to-Market 1329, at approximately 10 p.m. on Sunday, according to Chief Deputy Jose Martinez with the Duval County Sheriff's Department.
According to Martinez, the juveniles were throwing out the trash when they used the opportunity to run.
Alice Echo News Journal attempted to contact officials at the detention center however, as of Tuesday no calls or emails were returned.
The Duval County Sheriff's Department along Sector 243 Department of Public Safety aircraft, Duval County Task Force, Border Patrol and Jim Wells County Sheriff's Department searched for the juveniles even used K9s for assistance.
According to sheriff officials, one of the juveniles is from Alice and the other from Benavides.
The juveniles were transported back to the juvenile detention center and may face more time in the facility due to their escape.
