The Junior Police Academy had a end of the year ceremony on Tuesday for its members and their achievements throughout the 2015-2016 school year.

During the ceremony, the graduating students were recognized for their contributions to the academy. Graduating members include Capt. Joshua Hawks, Lt. Gabriel Garza, Sgt. Orlando Jasso Jr., Cpl. Tyler Battice and member Felix Villarreal.

With the academy's top officials graduating new brass was selected. The new brass is Capt. Mateo Jasso, Lt. Joseph Jasso, Sgt. Antonio Trevino and Cpl. Michael Corona.

“New brass, I would like to give you the best of luck and to keep the JPA in high standards and performance,” Capt. Hawks said.

The new brass were sworn in for the upcoming school year.

The club accumulated 2,506 hours of community service and 1,545 hours of training.

Alice City Council proclaimed May 12 as Junior Police Academy Day for their countless service to the community.
