Early voting in Jim Wells County began on Monday; voters turned out to vote on three campaigns.

In March, the JWC Sheriff's race, County Commissioner Precinct 1 and Constable Precinct 1.

The runoff for the Democrat Sheriff's race is JWC Sheriff Oscar Lopez and Danny J. Bueno.

County Commissioner Precinct 1 runoff is between Margie H. Gonzalez and Zenaida Sanchez.

A runoff between Gilberto Saenz IV and Jesus “Chuy” Salinas Jr. for the Constable Precinct 1.

As of 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday The Courthouse had 341 total voters.

On Monday the JWC courthouse had 371 Democrats and 6 Republicans, Orange Grove City Hall had 10 Democrat voters, Premont City Hall had 9 Democrat voters and the Jim Wells County Fresh Water District in Ben Bolt had 14 Democrats.

There has been 515 mail-in ballots returned.

There is still time to vote early polls throughout the county. Polling places are:

JWC Courthouse, 200 North Almond in Alice open from 7 a.m. Till 7 p.m.

Orange Grove City Hall, 310 West Pundt Avenue in Orange Grove from 8 a.m. Till 5 p.m. They are closed for lunch.

Premont City Hall, 200 SW First Street in Premont from 8 a.m. To 5 p.m. They are closed for lunch.

JWC Fresh Water District, 114 Salazar in Ben Bolt from 8 a.m. Till 5 p.m They are closed for lunch.

Early voting will continue till Friday, May 20. Remember a valid identification card must be presented when voting.
