Ruben Guzman was arrested on Sunday on the 700 block of Kennedy Street. Officers made contact with the victim who was visibly shaken. The victim told police that Guzman pulled a knife out on her and threatened to slash her throat. Guzman was transported to the Jim Wells County jail. He was charged with assault by threat.

Disobey officers orders

Officer Juan Reyes was dispatched to the 1300 block of Edith Drive on Sunday for an unwanted individual. Officer Reyes made contact with Billy Segura and the victim. The officer attempted to speak with the victim however, Segura would interfere with the conversation. The officer took the victim near the unit and told Segura to stay inside the property. Segura disregarded the officer's order and walked toward the victim as she attempted to give her statement. Segura was arrested and transported to the JWC jail. He was charged with disregarding police officer.

Woman damages ex-boyfriend's property

On Friday evening, Officer Reyes responded to a residence on the 100 block of Sidbury Street. When the officer arrived he made contact with the victim who stated his ex-girlfriend, Daisy Garza, had asked him to pick up property that he had left behind. As he connected a boat to his vehicle Garza broke the windshield to the victim's truck. Garza told the officer she broke the windshield because he never moved. She was taken to JWC jail and charged with criminal mischief over $100 less than $750.
