Fifty-two-year-old Romeo Rosas was sentenced to 52 years in prison for burglary of a habitation on Monday.
Rosas was found guilty by a jury of three women and nine men before noon.
Rosas was accused of breaking into several homes. On Monday, the victim of one of the homes Rosas hit took the stand.
With a translator by her side, she told the court how she was inside her home when Rosas attempted to get in. The victim stated she saw Rosas for approximately 2 seconds when his foot and arm went through the window.
After Rosas attempted to break into her home the victim recognized him when he showed up at her place of employment. On the stand she told the defense attorney that she recognized Rosas right away.
Rosas was transported to the Jim Wells County jail where he will remain until he is sent to a Texas prison.
