Eighty years ago the Alice High School Theatre Department entered the UIL One Act Play competition for the first time.

On Saturday, March 5 the students and their sponsors made the trip to Tuloso Midway ISD for the competition.

"We have always had a very strong program, with great results at this competition," said Darleen Totten, Alice HS UIL Coordinator and Fine Arts Department Chair. "I am proud to announce that our team advanced to district competition."

Students also placed individually. Pooja Bhakta won Best Techie. Kyrstin Garcia was chosen for the All-Star Cast. Esai Cordova, Lee Estrada and Carlo Manriques made the Honorable Mention All Star Cast.

The next level of competition will be on March 25 in Victoria.
