Alice police officers arrested two individuals after they were informed the couple had narcotics at a residence on the 1000 block of Roosevelt. On Tuesday officers from Alice PD and the Central South Texas Criminal Investigative Unit arrived at the residence and made contact with Jose Guadalupe Sanchez and Annette Anguiano.
According to the report, officers located marijuana, a digital scale with cocaine residue, a grinder with marijuana, sandwich bags, a spoon with cocaine residue, a crack pipe and several joints in the home.
Three juveniles were in the home at the time. Child Protective Services were called.
Sanchez and Anguiano were transported to the Jim Wells County jail and charged with child endangerment and possession of marijuana.
2 arrested after traffic stop
On Wednesday morning Officer Jose Saldivar was on patrol when he observed a silver Chevrolet Impala with an unreadable paper license plate.
A traffic stop was conducted when the driver Guillermo Nunez told the officer he did not have a drivers license. Nunez and his passenger, Crystal Mata were asked to step out of the vehicle. Nunez gave the officer consent to search the vehicle.
During the search, Saldivar located the corner of a sandwich bag in an open purse. According to the report, also located in the purse was a glass pipe.
Nunez was found to be in possession of a bag that contained nine Hydrocodone pills.
Nunez and Mata were transported to the JWC jail.
Nunez was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
When Corporal Julian Barrera transported Mata to jail she was found to be in possession of a handgun, report stated.
Mata, who has previous conviction on felony criminal charges, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and for unlawful possession of a firearm by felon.
