The Alice Lady Coyotes’ 400-meter relay team of Haley Salinas, Kendall Leal, Brooke Castillo and Victoria Diaz broke a school record in the event at the area meet Thursday in Memorial Stadium. The team was second in the race with a time of 50.26 which broke an Alice High School record of 50.30 set in 1983.
Cienna Hinojosa, Sadie Viera, Hailie Cervantes, and Allison Guerra from Benavides High School will be going to re gionals in the 4x200 relay. Hinojosa also qualified for regionals in the 800m run.
GOLIAD - Lady Bulldog track team finished third overall in the area track meet on Tuesday in Goliad. Hannah Van Blarcum was the area champion in the 400m and the 200m.
The Orange Grove track team recently participated in the area track and field meet. Varsity boys finished 14th in overall team.
