Maria Minerva Salinas “Minnie”, age 71, passed away September 16, 2022 in Alice, Texas. She was born May 27, 1951 in Freer, Texas to Antonio Vasquez Martinez and Nicolasa “Nancy” Martinez. Minnie previously worked as a dietician for P&S Hospital for 20 years and later began working for Christus Spohn Alice for 10 years. She enjoyed western movies and was an avid Elvis fan. David R. Garcia

David R. Garcia (nicknamed “Foco” by his auto body shop friends), age 58, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022, in a Corpus Christ Hospital following an extended illness. David was born November 23, 1963, to Antonio A. Garcia, Sr. and Guadalupe (“Lupita”) R. Garcia in Alice, Texas. David loved to be with his family, especially his granddaughter. He enjoyed playing pool, loved the beach and camping at the beach. David loved working on cars where he took a great passion in doing bodywork. He was always proud of his work when he saw a vehicle he worked on, driving around in town. David loved music, singing and wanted to learn how to play the acoustic guitar, but seemed to never have time to learn it. His laugh and smile were infectious so much so that everyone knew exactly who it was by his laugh. David will be greatly missed by his family and everyone who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Abel B. Garcia. Dr. Euell W. Crisp Jr.

Dr. Euell W. Crisp Jr., entered eternal rest September 10, 2022 in Alice, Texas at the age of 98. He was born August 30, 1924 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Euell W. and Euna H. Crisp. He served in the Unites States Army during World War II. After serving his country, Dr. Crisp attended medical school in California. After graduating medical school, he set up his practice in the small town of Alice; a small town he fell in love with while visiting a physician for an injury he had. Dr. Crisp worked for the Alice Community for numerous years and was there for many generations of his patients. He earned the respect of the Alice community through his loyalty, honesty, and humble dedication to his patients. He stated that it was always his dream as a child to become a doctor, and he fulfilled that dream and lived it every day. Dr. Crisp will forever be remembered for his love and dedication of helping people. He was preceded in death by his parents, Euell W. and Euna H. Crisp; first wife, Winona Crisp; son, Wayne Crisp; and daughter-in-law, Dana Crisp. Dr. Crisp is survived by his wife of 33 years, Elodia L. Crisp; children, Darrell Crisp, Leslie Crisp, and Charlotte Crisp; step-children, Oscar Franco and Gloria Franco Nash (David); four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Services were held Thursday, August 15, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church followed by a burial at Coastal Bend Veterans Cemetery. Pallbearers were Romeo Gonzalez. Eric Nisimblat, Fabian Teixeira, Mark Garza, Randy Rause, Rudy Moreno, Ralph Cuellar, Channing Nash and Zack Rabah. Honorary pallbearer will be David Nash. Any donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic School in Alice in memory of Dr. Euell W.
