ALICE - Anna Moreno, age 55, passed away peacefully with family and friends at her hospital bedside in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born in Lubbock, Texas on October 27, 1966, and shortly after began residing in Alice, TX until she gained her heavenly wings on April 3, 2022.
On April 9th, 2022, Our Lord Jesus Christ called one of his angels back to be at his side. Micaela Guadalupe Lerma Zepeda, age 80, departed this earth to be with those who preceded her in death, including her son Jose Francisco Zepeda USMC Retired, and her granddaughter Margarita Zepeda.
SAN DIEGO - Raul M. Olivarez, age 61, passed away April 15, 2022, in San Diego, Texas with his family around his bed side, after his 3 year battle with cancer. He was born January 20, 1961, in Alice, Texas to Alejandro Olivarez and Rosenda Martinez. Raul was a floor hand in the oil industry and had a gift for carpentry work as well. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as horseback riding, bull riding, riding motorcycles, hunting, and bonfires. He also enjoyed dancing and training horses and was known as an animal whisperer. He will be remembered for his unconditional love for his family and spending quality time with them and being a jokester. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Petra R. Flores, 95, passed away peacefully in the am of April 12, 2022, as she listened to the morning mass at the San Juan Nursing Home, San Juan Texas. She was born January 2, 1927 in Waco, Texas to Santiago Rivera and Dionicia Curiel. Petra was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was also a devoted follower of Christ and would pray devoutly for her family’s intentions. She was patient, kind, and loving as she made each one of us feel special.
Maria Alicia Olivares, better known as Alicia, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
ORANGE GROVE - Frances W. Hudman, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 in a Corpus Christi, Texas hospital.Frances was born to Edward and Imgard (Rokohl) Wostal in Alice, Texas on Aug. 27, 1938. She worked for many years in the public school cafeteria, retiring from the Orange Grove ISD. Frances was preceded in death by her husband Millard M. Hudman, 2 sisters: Mary Ann Schuette, Evelyn Fuhrken, brother: Larry Wostal, 3 sons: Jeff Laird, Edward Laird, Jimmy Hudman and a grandson, James Hudman. Survivors:4 daughters: Teresa (Brian) Schmidt of Cape Coral, Fl.Sandra (Steve) Schumacher of Orange Grove, Tx.Brenda Hudman of Orange Grove, Tx.Peggy (Patrick) Carter of Sandia, Tx., grandchildren: Rachelle Klepac, Sabrina Flores, Steven Schumacher, Barbara Wilson, Brittany Mercer, Scott Hudman, Justin Hudman, Nicole Mayhall, Krystal Cornejo, Keith Carter, Sarah Carter, Clara Carter, M.K. Sierra, Christan Carter, 21 greatgrandchildren.
SAN DIEGO - Sarah S. Chapa – 41 years of age passed away on April 5, 2022, at her residence with her family at her bedside. She was born on May 3, 1980, to George Saenz and Helen Hunter Saenz in Baltimore, Maryland. Sarah graduated from Benavides High School, and Coastal Bend College with her associate degree in early childhood development. Sarah & her husband Joel were high school sweethearts and married on November 27, 1999. She liked shopping, traveling, going to (cheer & dance) competitions to watch her 2 girls Samantha and Avery perform. She also enjoyed watching her son, Joel (Jr) at his football games. Sarah was well known as the (PIT QUEEN) for the best BBQ in town; she got featured in Texas Monthly. She loved her best friends Regeana & Briana so much but loved her kids more than anything in this world.
ALICE - Santos Molina Castillo- 82 years of age passed away on April 3, 2022, at her residence with her family at her bedside. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was born on June 29, 1939, to Calletano and Josefa M. Molina. She enjoyed Bingo and trying her luck at the casinos
ALICE - Manuel Garcia Jr. passed away April 7, 2022. He was 65. Manuel was born on August 29, 1956, in Alice, Texas to Manuel Garcia Sr. and Ernestina Ramirez Garcia. He volunteered coaching the little league summer games in his younger years. Manuel worked as an EMT in Falfurrias and was also an EMT and a dispatcher in Alice. He was an Alice Firefighter until he retired in 2000. Manuel had a unique name; his friends called him “Eskimo”. He liked to travel and eat at his favorite restaurants. He later worked for Andrews Budweiser where he also retired after working there for many years. Manuel also worked as a DJ where he was known as “Iceman”. He was an avid Alice Coyote fan. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
ALICE - Maria Irene Molina, age 76, passed away March 31, 2022 in Alice, Texas. She was born January 9, 1946 in Benavides, Texas. Maria enjoyed listening to music, singing and watching her television shows. Some of her favorite shows was the Golden Girls and some she would watch with her husband such as, Andy Griffin Show, Bonanza, and John Wayne movies. Maria had a strong work ethic from working as a home provider in the medical field to keeping the household up at home. She enjoyed cooking and washing for her family and was a firm believer in hanging her clothes out to dry. She will be remembered for her unconditional love for her family and her sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
