City presents Motorcycle Awareness Proclamation

The City of Alice Mayor Cynthia Carrasco presented the Alice Mongols Texas Boom Squad a proclamation on Wednesday, May 25 for Motorcycle Awareness. May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reminds vehicle drivers and motorists that safe driving and riding practices and cooperation from all road users will help reduce the number of fatalities and injuries on the nation’s highways, according to the United States Department of Transportation.

South Texas responses to tragedy in Uvalde

School districts, cities and law enforcement are collaborating in South Texas to ease South Texas residents after the tragic events in Ulvade on Tuesday that left 19 children and two adults dead. “The Alice Police Department and the Jim Wells County Sheriff’s Department extends their most heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of (Tuesday’s) tragedy and senseless act in Uvalde, Texas.
