FREER - Freer Independent School District teachers and staff members were recently recognized for their work throughout the 2021-22 school year. Ben Gonzalez was named as the Secondary Teacher of the Year.
PREMONT - A $500 scholarship was awarded to Trevor Martinez on Thursday afternoon by the Alice Hub City Chamber Board and the Ambassadors. Martinez attended Bishop High School and recently graduated.
Alice High School Theatre Summer Camp for 2022 is open for registration. From now until July 1 students ages 10 to 15 can register to participate in the camp that will be held in July.
Students have officially kicked off the summer months. Children will be home and hungry.

Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Alice for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, 2020.

CORPUS CHRISTI – In the midst of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the Coastal Bend Writing Project at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi, in partnership with the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures, is proud to announced receipt of a $70,000 National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) grant. The grant is part of the National Writing Project’s “Building a More Perfect Union” program.
