KINGSVILLE - Texas A&M University - Kingsville (TAMUK) has released the names of the students who made the President’s List, Dean’s List and Honor Roll for the spring 2022 semester. The President’s List requires a grade point average of 4.00 on all work attempted for a particular semester, with a minimum of 15 semester undergraduate hours completed, exclusive of credit only (CR) courses.
ORANGE GROVE - As a result of the devastating fire that took place at the Orange Grove Area Museum on April 17, a live auction will be held as a fundraiser to benefit the museum’s fire recovery account.
Alice High School Strutters Social Officers won “Most Respectful, Creative, and Determined Award” and graduated from Social Officer Camp for completing all projects and tasks assigned to them. Dancer officers won “Most Creative Choreography, Disciplines, and Showmanship Award” and graduated from Dance Officer Camp after completing six hours of leadership training workshops, completing choreography 101 workshop, and 12 hours of dance workshops.
Alice High School AFJROTC recently attended the Youth Preparedness Camp at Texas State University in San Marcos. They attend the Community Emergency Response Team training.
Alice Independent School District recognized law enforcement on Tuesday night during the school board meeting. The district and school board thanked law enforcement agencies for the assistance of the Jim Wells County Sheriff’s Department and Sheriff Daniel Bueno, the Alice Police Department and Alice Police Chief Eden Garcia, and Corpus Christi police officer and Alice graduate Janelle Castillo after their help locally following the horrible school shooting in Uvalde in May.
Dog beds, dog toys, dog treats and more were donated to to Neighbors Offering Animals Hope (N.O.A.H.) on Thursday afternoon. The donation was thanks to Burke’s Outlet and their generous customers.
