Hazmat and law enforcement exercise conducted at the Texas State Aquarium

CORPUS CHRISTI – At the beginning of August, Nueces County first responders worked with the TX National Guard’s 6th Civil Support Team conducting a joint Hazmat and Law Enforcement exercise at the Texas State Aquarium as well as the Hilltop Community Center in Corpus Christi. The purpose of the exercise is to establish and refine valuable partnerships between local, state, and federal agencies in responding to incidents involving hazardous materials that may overwhelm local resources. The exercise is not COVID related and has been scheduled since earlier this year.

TAMU-CC partners with Coastal Bend Blood Center to launch Collegiate Hero Program

CORPUS CHRISTI – Every two seconds, someone in the United States requires life-saving donated blood or platelets. To meet this need, the Coastal Bend Blood Center (CBBC) has partnered with Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to turn Islanders into Collegiate Heroes. The program was launched on Aug. 29 with an on-campus blood drive.

ExxonMobil Engineering Scholarship Program accepting applications

The ExxonMobil Engineering Scholarship Program is accepting applications and is intended to assist and encourage outstanding Hispanic college freshmen who plan to pursue a degree in engineering at U. S. post-secondary institutions. The program is sponsored by the Exxon Mobil Foundation and is administered by the LULAC National Educational Service Centers (LNESC).
