Freer ISD staff attend TFAR
CORPUS CHRISTI - Freer Independent School District staff attended the Texas Formative Assessment Resource (TFAR) at the Education Service Center 2. The TFAR is an online platform that enables educators to create, administer, analyze, and share formative assessments, according to the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
BBPB HS’ Homecoming King and Queen

NTE ACE students learn archery
FREER - Dark Horse Archery out of Orange Grove visited students who participate in the Norman Thomas Elementary ACE Program on Monday. Justin Rokohl, founder and Marine veteran, began the non-profit organization to help veterans in honor of his best friend.
AFJROTC Veterans Park Clean Up
Alice High School AFJROTC used their Saturday, Sept. 17 to clean the Veterans Park. The cadets grabbed rakes, trash bags, and gloves and slowly picked up trash. There are approximately over $100 students who participate in the Alice HS’ AFJROTC.
CBC awarded $333K grant for Vocational Nursing Program
BEEVILLE – Coastal Bend College’s (CBC) vocational nursing students will soon receive career training in newly enhanced labs thanks to a grant from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) program has awarded CBC a total of $333,252 to fund the purchase and installation of state-of-the-art equipment, including mid-fidelity manikins and geriatric simulators.
VFW Post 8621, AFJROTC partnered for POW/MIA Recognition Day
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Alice Memorial Post 8621 and the Alice High School’s AFJROTC put black ribbons around the trees at Central Office and Alice HS in observance of POW/MIA Recognition Day which fell on Sept. 16.
