Here’s why it’s important to talk about mental illness

A couple of weeks ago I wrote a blog and posted it on Facebook. It was about my binge eating disorder and how something was bothering me but that I couldn’t figure out what it was, hence, the binges. It boils down to the core belief that I don't deserve to be happy, that I’m unworthy. That’s a working theory.

Salvador R. Gonzalez “Angel”

ALICE - Salvador R. Gonzalez “Angel” passed away at the age of 67 years old on March 28, 2022, in a Corpus Christi hospital. He was born on September 15, 1954, in Mexico to Luz and Genoveva Ramirez Gonzalez. Angel worked in the surrounding areas as a grave digger and cemetery laborer for many years. His work history in this area starts with working for Walker-Mora Funeral Home, Roberson Funeral Home, Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home and lastly at Rosas Funeral Home. He was a hard-working man with strong ethics and was always putting everyone’s needs before his. He attended the Adult Day Care Center in Alice for numerous years. He will be remembered as a jokester and always with a great sense of humor and a great fisherman. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

Herminia J. Rangel

TECOLOTE COMMUNITY - Herminia J. Rangel – 55 years of age passed away on March 23, 2022, peacefully at her home, with her family by her bedside. Herminia was born on July 14, 1966, in Shelby Michigan to Pablo and Ercila F. Juarez Jr. She enjoyed Crafting, sewing, painting, cooking, baking especially during the holidays. Other past times she loved was playing Chalupa, cards, and crocheting blankets, and gathering with her friends and neighbors.

Lady Coyotes fall to Calallen

State-ranked Alice Lady Coyotes Softball team fell to Calallen in a hardfought battle Tuesday evening at Calallen High School. Alice has another outing this week when they square off against Tuloso-Midway Friday night.
