Vigil promotes awareness against child abuse

In 2021, there were 356 alleged victims of child abuse in Jim Wells County and out of those numbers, the Department of Family and Protective Services confirmed 189 victims. On Tuesday, April 19, Brush Country CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children) held a vigil at the JWC Courthouse to take a stand against child abuse.

With some organizational tips, tools, and space rearranging, accessible downsizing is possible. h Deborah Gussoff, a Certified Professional Organizer and owner of In Order, Inc., says a large portion of her business is working with baby boomers and seniors who think they have to downsize – typically by paring down their possessions in order to move to a smaller space. But what she calls “rightsizing” might be the best approach. “You can modify the volume of stuff you own to age in place in a safer, easier-to-manage way,” Gussoff advises.

Roselawn Cemetery upgrades continue

Months of cleaning the Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Alice by a group of concerned citizens has made substantial progress. Progress that continues in the hopes of addressing much-needed improvements.
