For over seven decades, the Del Mar College (DMC) campus community has anticipated the annual Recognition Ceremony, an event that celebrates students and educators for their academic achievements, community service and mentorship. With the last “in person” ceremony held three years ago in 2019, this year marks a new beginning as the College returned to Richardson Performance Hall and held its 70th Annual Recognition Ceremony with participants walking the stage to receive their awards.

Lady Bucks have best of playoffs, headed to playoffs

Freer Lady Bucks defeat Sabinal in a best of three series. Game one 32-6, lost game two 17-6, and won game three 17-1. The Lady Buckaroos advance to round two of the playoffs and will take on Flatonia Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday at 6 p.m., and Saturday at 1 p.m. if needed. All games are in Somerset.

Alice ISD Wellness Walk

Alice Independent School District held a Wellness Family Fun Walk on Friday, April 29 at the Memorial Stadium. The wellness walk was free for all. Students, parents and staff took in the fresh air as they were treated with different activities and snacks. The event was hosted by the ACE program and Alice ISD.

SDISD Special Field Day

SAN DIEGO - There was an excitement in the air as parents watched their children participate in the first Special Field Day at the San Diego Vaquero Stadium. On Tuesday morning, students from San Diego, Premont, Benavides, Freer and Hebbronville took to the track for a run.
