Texas Mutual Awards $100K Grant to Del Mar College for Continued Safety Training

Texas Mutual Insurance Company has awarded a $100,000 grant to Del Mar College (DMC) to continue funding its Safety Institute, Transportation Training Services program safety course for Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) drivers and other new initiatives. These initiatives provide workplace safety courses for community employers, workers and the general public.

CHRISTUS Spohn Health System Launches CHRISTUS On-Demand Care for anyone across the Coastal Bend

CHRISTUS Health is drastically expanding access to health care across the Coastal Bend with the launch of CHRISTUS On Demand Care. These virtual visits allow patients to meet with a CHRISTUS Health caregiver through live video from their smartphone, tablet or computer for their urgent care needs from 7 a.m. to 7 p. m. every day of the week, including Saturday and Sunday, and even holidays. This new service compliments scheduled virtual visits that are already in high demand and available to new and existing patients.

JWC Habitat for Humanity turns over 19th home

House number 19 for Jim Wells County Habitat for Humanity was turned over to the new homeowners, Cassandra Lopez Espinoza, Jacob Espinoza and their two daughters. The Espinoza’s house is a dream come true, said Cassandra when they received the news about their new home.

The World Trade Organization recently announced that the United States, European Union, India, and South Africa had finalized a proposal to waive intellectual property protections for Covid-19 vaccines. Soon, all 164 WTO member nations will vote on whether to implement the proposed waiver.
