If you’re a United States citizen and you speak another language, the FBI wants you! The FBI Houston Field Office is hosting two informative events about the contract linguist position. The first is a live Twitter chat on Thursday, May 26, 2022, and the second is an invitation-only virtual information session on June 16, 2022.

Calvin Franklin “Buddy” Simonton

Mr. Calvin Franklin “Buddy” Simonton, 77, of Rockdale, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at his residence. A memorial service for Mr. Simonton will be held at a later date. Cremation will be followed by a burial in Alice, TX, next to his son, Larry Wayne Simonton.

House number 19 for Jim Wells County Habitat for Humanity was turned over to the new homeowners, Cassandra Lopez Espinoza, Jacob Espinoza and their two daughters. The Espinoza’s house is a dream come true, said Cassandra when they received the news about their new home.

A Threat to Global Innovation at the WTO

The World Trade Organization recently announced that the United States, European Union, India, and South Africa had finalized a proposal to waive intellectual property protections for Covid-19 vaccines. Soon, all 164 WTO member nations will vote on whether to implement the proposed waiver.
