Motorcycle Awareness Proclamation

To promote Motorcycle awareness for the month of May, Alice Mayor Cynthia Carrasco and the city council members recently presented the Calaveras of Alice with a proclamation. Motorcycle safety is important for all motorists especially motorcyclists and their families. To raise awareness motorcyclists and others remind people of the importance of wearing helmets, looking both ways and driving at safe speeds.

2022 Seniors . . . Well, here you are about to graduate. I’m sure you’re pinching yourself at the prospect of reaching your goal of the last 12 years. I think of you all as caterpillars. You’re about to leave your cocoons; your high school and homes, to emerge as butterflies and fly away to your futures.

As my senior year comes to an end, I think about all of the memories I have made and of all the people I have had the pleasure of meeting throughout my high school years. I will miss the lectures my friends and I would have before exams and how nervous we would be in the time leading up to those exams.

Biden Administration Announces $5.6 Million to Improve Rail Infrastructure, Enhance Safety, and Strengthen Supply Chain in Texas

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) today announced $5.6 million in rail infrastructure funding for Texas. This funding is part of the Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) grant program. Nationally, the CRISI program awarded 46 projects in 32 states and the District of Columbia more than $368 million. These investments will play a crucial role in modernizing our country’s rail infrastructure and strengthening supply chains to reduce congestion and get people and goods where they need to go faster and cheaper. The program will create good-paying jobs and benefit urban and rural communities across the country.
