Alice Rotary Club installs 2022-23 Officers

Alice Rotarians and guests gathered for a special ceremony Wednesday, June 29 at Taqueria Jalisco for their club’s installation of the 2022-23 officers. 2021-22 President David Silva passed the gavel to Pete Crisp, the 2022-23 Rotary President.

NAS Kingsville civilian awarded 2021 Spirit of Hope Award

NAS KINGSVILLE – Jennifer Cross says she never seeks or expects recognition when volunteering – but she’s getting it. Cross, the Naval Air Station Kingsville administrative officer, is being recognized for her dedication to service members, past and present, as the sole recipient of the Navy’s 2021 Spirit of Hope Award.

General Land Office Earns Top Honors from National Association of Government Communicators

AUSTIN—The Texas General Land Office (GLO) was recently awarded firstplace honors by the National Association of Government Communicators (NAGC) for its natural disaster preparedness public service announcement campaign, Don’t Ignore Your Risk. The NGCA’s Blue Pencil & Gold Screen Awards are an annual international awards program that recognizes superior government communication products and those who produce them.

SD ACE Program

SAN DIEGO - San Diego Independent School District ACE students are learning new skills from knowledgeable staff and volunteers. Students are using the summer months to learn about art and culinary. Volunteer Andrea Jimenez taught the students how to use do-it-yourself projects with the Cricut Design.

Agua Dulce, Banquete ISD students Summer Program

AGUA DULCE - CTE Summer program students from Agua Dulce and Banquete Independent School Districts have been busy performing basic computer maintenance tasks and software updates. In addition they have bridged technology and security/aviation/autovisual viadrone technology. Agua Dulce ISD is hosting the summer program.

SD Police meet with residents

SAN DIEGO - San Diego Police Chief Rogelio Rodriguez and his officer met with Chual Vista Apartment residents on June 23. Rodriguez spoke to residents about the importance of locking their vehicles, indicators of criminal behavior and common phone scams.
