ERCOT meeting Texas’ peak energy demands, council says

(The Center Square) – Texas’ energy grid is meeting peak demands and system-wide demand records as more people moving to Texas are increasing usage and temperatures sustain triple digits. The state says it is meeting energy demands after system-wide reforms and improvements were made in response to directives issued by the governor and state legislature after the winter freeze and power failure in February 2021.

Woman pleads guilty to 2013 theft of property case

The 229th Judicial District Court sentenced a Benavides woman to 10 years of probation for stealing $136,604.17 from the Agua Poquita Soil and Water Conservation District. According to the 229th Judicial Assistant District Attorney Rumaldo Solis, 53-yearold Juanita Amanda Walters was convicted of theft of property, a second-degree felony, after she was accused of stealing money from the governmental entity in March of 2013.

BSA affected by pandemic, look forward to brighter future

Everyday things have been impacted by COVID-19 for the last two years and nothing is any different for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA).
