Alice Coyote Tennis Camp successful

The Alice Coyote Tennis Camp was an overwhelming success. Led by Alice coach Melody Garcia, the camp focused on the fundamentals of tennis. Assistants in the camp were AHS tennis players Anthony Torres and Deborah Canales. Camp sponsors were VP Sales and Oilfield Engine and Equipment.

BBPB Cheerleaders host Mini Cheer Camp

BEN BOLT - About 95 children participated in the Ben Bolt - Palito Blanco High School’s Varsity Cheerleaders Mini Cheer Camp. The camp had children ages three to 12 learning basic cheer skills like stunts, cheers and chants.

Pitch clocks, shift limits, larger bases in MLB’s future

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole and the rest of major league pitchers are likely to be looking over their shoulders next season — at a pitch clock. Clocks have cut the length of minor league games by about a half-hour this year, and baseball officials appear certain to promote the timers to the majors.

Beach-nesting bird season continues along the upper Texas Coast and Gulf Coast Bird Observatory is continuing to monitor birds on Matagorda Beach and Sargent Beach. We are focused on Wilson’s Plovers and Least Terns which are protected by the Migratory Bird Act and are considered species of high concern due to habitat loss and disturbance. Most of the birds have finished nesting at this point but there are still chicks running around so please be cautious when visiting the beach and make sure to give them plenty of space. Along with the Wilson’s Plover and Least Tern, we have observed other breeding shorebirds as well such as Blacknecked Stilt.

House Democrats Pass Bill for Unlimited Abortion Across America

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressional Democrats passed a bill Friday to overturn all current Pro-Life laws in the nation and prevent states like Texas from passing future laws protecting preborn children. H.R. 8296, the socalled “Women’s Health Protection Act,” would kill thousands of preborn baby girls and harm countless pregnant women. The House passed the bill by a vote of 219 to 210 and the policy now heads to the U.S. Senate.
