Get MAS, Go Virtual … Annual DMC Mexican American Studies Summer Seminar Set for July 30

It’s a learning experience that immerses you in the Mexican American culture, which not only makes South Texas but also the whole country a richer and enlightening place to live. And, if you’re not familiar with the Del Mar College (DMC) Mexican American Studies (MAS) associate’s degree, the College’s annual summer seminar is a great way to get a taste of the subjects the program covers.

Moving with the Birds

I recently moved into a different home, leaving the bayou front for a wooded city block. We will miss the water birds, but we’re already finding a whole new set of birds to enjoy! To me, exploring new places to see what bird species, and other flora and fauna, are around the next corner is what makes birding so interesting and exciting! What will I encounter next? I can’t say how many hundreds, maybe thousands, of times, I had my breath taken away by nature’s beauty, complexity, and intricacies.

TDLR celebrates Texas Elimination of Architectural Barriers Act & Americans with Disabilities Act anniversaries

AUSTIN – Texas needs more Registered Accessibility Specialists (RASes). Although 2,000+ construction projects are registered statewide with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), only 545 people are licensed to review and inspect those projects to ensure that the projects are designed and constructed to comply with the Texas Accessibility Standards.
