David R. Garcia (nicknamed “Foco” by his auto body shop friends), age 58, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022, in a Corpus Christ Hospital following an extended illness. David was born November 23, 1963, to Antonio A. Garcia, Sr. and Guadalupe (“Lupita”) R. Garcia in Alice, Texas. David loved to be with his family, especially his granddaughter. He enjoyed playing pool, loved the beach and camping at the beach. David loved working on cars where he took a great passion in doing bodywork. He was always proud of his work when he saw a vehicle he worked on, driving around in town. David loved music, singing and wanted to learn how to play the acoustic guitar, but seemed to never have time to learn it. His laugh and smile were infectious so much so that everyone knew exactly who it was by his laugh. David will be greatly missed by his family and everyone who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Abel B. Garcia. Survivors: Life Partner of 35 years: Idalia Davila of Alice, Texas;4 Children: Abel Garcia of Houston, Texas, Christina Renne Ledezma of Houston, Texas, David Rene Garcia II (Caitlin) of Alice, Texas, and Miranda Garcia of Alice, Texas; 2 Step-sons: Conrado Davila III of Alice, Texas and John (Amberly) Davila of San Antonio, Texa; 5 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Brother: Tony (Diana) A Garcia, Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas; 2 Sisters: Gloria (Jimmy) Schmidt of Orange Grove, Texas and Alva (Dean) Cochran of Alice, Texas; Mother-in-law: Anita Salinas of Alice, Texa; 3 Brothers-in-law: Israel Perez Jr. of Orange Grove, Texas, Mark (Sylvia) Salinas of Alice, Texas, and Juan (Sarah) Perez of Alice, Texas; 1 Sister-in-law: Marina Perez of Alice, Texas; And many other friends and family. Inurnment of cremains will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 10:00 o’clock a.m., at the Garcia family plot at the San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas. Services entrusted to Roberson Funeral Home of Alice.
