Visitation: 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, in Greenwood Chapel in Fort Worth. Jose was born Friday, June 13, 1940, to Jose Trevino, Sr., and Angelita Salgado Trevino in Alice, Texas. He was attracted to aircraft and decided to enlist in the United States Air Force on Thursday, April 7, 1960. He served as an Airlift Bombardment Aircraft Maintenance Technician for 22 years, 5 months, and 24 days. During his enlistment, he was awarded the following: AF Meritorious Service Medal; AF Commendation Medal; AF Good Conduct Medal with one silver oak leaf cluster; AF Outstanding Unit Award with Valor Device and one bronze leaf cluster; Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon; Army Good Conduct Medal; Longevity Service Ribbon with four bronze oak leaf clusters; National Defense Service Metal; Vietnam Service Metal; Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm; and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. After retiring from the military, he continued working with defense contractors such as General Dynamics, Metroplex Tech Services, Northrop-Grumman, Boeing Helicopters, Bell Helicopter, and GulfStream Aerospace. Jose retired in White Settlement where he purchased a house to be near his beloved aircraft. Jose had a passion for music where he wrote lyrics and music. He played everything from drums to guitar. During his time in the service, he played in bands during his free time all over the world. He wrote songs recorded by The Eagles, Willie Nelson, and Rosie and The Originals. He loved going to concerts, riding go-karts with his boys, and picking his guitar. Jose was a patriot and loved his country. Jose will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
