Before Tuesday night's game, Alice coach Marco Gonzalez said incomplete ball games were haunting his Coyotes.

It happened again Tuesday in a low-scoring battle against Gregory-Portland. The Coyotes matched the Wildcats in every quarter except for a lapse in the second and that ended up being the difference.

Gregory-Portland built a seven-point lead in the second and ended up edging Alice by two, 37-35.

The Coyotes were able to cut into the Wildcats' lead in the third. However, Gregory-Portland did what it had to hold off Alice in the fourth period for the victory.

Senior Josh Perez led Alice with eight points. Michael Breckon and Nick Sendejo each scored six.
