The Jim Wells County Republican party held their ballot placement drawing for contested races at the county courthouse Monday at 4:30 p.m.

Constable Precinct 3 drew first with Alfonso "Al" Cavalier drawing No. 1 and Jim Long drawing No. 2 on the ballot.

For Sheriff race, Renee Ramirez drawing for her father, Enrique Saenz, who drew No. 1 with Adan Caro drawing No. 2 on the ballot.

Republican Party Chair Joshua Flores held the drawing with 13 in attendance. Flores said this was a historical election with the most republican candidates filing in Jim Wells County.
