The 29-year-old Alice man wanted by Alice police was apprehended Tuesday at approximately 12 p.m. at his mother's residence on the 600 block of Corina Street.
Alice PD with the assistance of the United States Marshals arrested Louis Rodriguez for the an incident that occurred on Sunday at approximately 12:30 a.m.
Rodriguez is alleged to have cut another man a bar on the 100 block of North Johnson Street.
Alice police officers were dispatched to the establishment in reference to a stabbing that occurred. When officers arrived the 37-year-old victim had been taken to the hospital by a family member.
People inside the business were in a state of panic as they yelled and pushed each other.
According to the victim's stepmom, the victim was at the establishment to watch the band play and stood up to help the band "load up" when he accidentally bumped into the suspect.
According to officials, the two men were in a minor altercation when the suspect used a knife to cut the victim from the left ear to the lower jaw.
According to witnesses, the suspect fled through the back door of the bar after the incident.
Officers met with the victim at the hospital who could not communicate enough information due to the pain he was in, officials stated.
The emergency room staff told the officers had the victim been cut half an inch lower the jugular artery would have been cut, report stated.
Rodriguez was transported to the Jim Wells County jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
As of Wednesday morning, Rodriguez remains in the county jail with a $50,000.
