A 30-year-old man was apprehended Thursday at approximately 7:20 p.m. on the 500 block of West Collins.
The suspect was wanted for failure to appear on armed robbery charges at a local game room in Duval County.
Roel Ramirez was arrested after several officers from six agencies surrounded the residence and executed a warrant.
According to sheriff officials, the department received a tip of Ramirez's whereabouts and through strategic planning with officers from the Duval Sheriff's Office Response Team and Task Force Task Force, the Alice Police Department Swat Team, United States Border Patrol, Department of Public Safety Air Support and the 229th District Attorney's Office.
When officers arrived Ramirez was was outside the residence and immediately ran into the house in an attempt to evade police.
However, officers surrounded the home and Ramirez had no where no run, officials said.
Ramirez had been evading police for nearly two years.
In September 2012 Ramirez and another man wore masks stormed into a game room. The suspects carried guns and demanded cash before the manager grabbed a gun and shot at the suspects as they drove off. Two women waited in the getaway vehicle.
Ramirez was also wanted for a Stare Parole Violation. He was transported to the Duval County jail.
