Coyote football banquet set for Dec. 17

Alice Coyote Booster Club will host Fall Sports Banquet on Thursday, Dec. 17 at the K.C. Hall. Sports include: Cheerleaders and mascots, cross-country, football, trainers, strutters and volleyball. Attire for the event is Sunday best within dress code school policy. Student athletes will not be allowed in if not in compliance. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the Alice High School athletic department office or at the door. The cost is $12 per person.

For The Love of Daniel walk/run is Feb. 14

The annual For The Love of Nathaniel Mile Memorial Scholarship Run/Walk is at 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14. The event is being held at Anderson Park. The entry fee is $25 and goes toward scholarships. The entry fee also gets each runner a shirt. Registration forms are available at Get A Grip, GNC and Fit24.

Free entry to Padre Island Seashore for military

Active-duty members of the U.S. Military and their dependents may get a free annual pass to Padre Island National Seashore by showing a valid military identification card. Disabled veterans, U.S. residents with permanent disabilities and senior citizens also are eligible for free entry. Call 949-8069.

Hunter safety course offered

Texas Parks & Wildlife instructors will offer several hunter safety courses through December at the Corpus Christi Pistol and Rifle Club, 2832 Farm-to-Market Road 763. This course satisfies the state certification requirement for hunters born on or after Sept. 2, 1971. Students must be at least 9 years old to be certified. Space is limited, so preregister.
